Prostitution

Prostitution can be called many things, each having a different undertone. From making it sound like a necessity to a dirty job, all the way up to it being quite a pleasurable (no other meaning intended) experience.

Some call Prostitution what it is, with the simple thought of a man or woman selling their bodies on the streets. Some may call it being a ‘whore’, to think of one derogatory way in which to talk about prostitution, which implies that they are a terrible person. You could however adopt a little less critical point by saying they are a ‘lady of the night’ giving the person in question an air of mystery. Finally we have the last and most generous naming of the job role, being an ‘escort’ this not only encompasses women but men as well (no sexism in any industry is allowed these days), an escort does not necessarily give out any sort of sexual activity, they are merely a companion that has freewill and may have sex you if you show him/her a good time.

Price is also something associated with the names, in my opinion, a ‘whore’ would charge little and you would get everything including a side order of gonorrhoea (reminds me of a happy meal). A lady of the night would sidle up and charge a modest fee, do a lot then leave. Then you have the escort, who would hope to be treated well for the night, want to be cherished for the short time and then will no doubt leave the next day or when her time runs out, not necessarily after or during the sex, taking with her her ‘payment’ being far more than a whole months servicing from a ‘whore’. You get what you pay for I suppose.

Also before I move on from the subject of price, did anyone else (those of you who were in the lecture) begin laughing when the guy (you know the one) began getting really into the discussion about a fair price for prostitution AND then began to ask women around the room what prices they would accept if they were to partake in such work. I was inwardly laughing my ass off, which sounds quite revolting no doubt; however the emotion is true enough. It was so brilliantly awkward that even the lecturer began to stumble on her words and lose her place.

Now my final point on prostitution is as per usual a moral one, is prostitution right? In all honesty I have no problem with prostitution, if the person has chosen to go into the profession, which in some cases (I appreciate this is very few) is the case. All it is at that point is a career choice, sure it has its risks but so does everything. It pays the bills and with all the talk about being enterprising they should be given more of a positive spin rather than being slagged off constantly.

Oh also why this came to mind (lol at slight reference to ejaculation) but I could imagine a pro prostitution banner for the religious.

‘Sell your body and not your soul, use the holy condom and say NO to unwanted babies’

Below is a link to a prostitution raid from my home town, why? Who knows.
